The Gross Reservoir Expansion Project is a cornerstone of Denver Water’s long-term strategy to ensure a reliable water supply for one-quarter of Colorado’s population. By addressing the imbalance in the north-south collection system, the project will mitigate future drought impacts and enhance system flexibility to combat climate change.
Expected to fill its expanded capacity in 2027, the project represents nearly 25 years of planning, environmental studies, permitting, and construction.
Engaging the contractor early in the process allowed the project team to identify design and construction efficiencies, reducing costs while maintaining high standards.
